Republicans Endorse Candidates

Members of the Murrysville Export Republican Committee (MERC) met on April 7 and made the following endorsements of candidates for the primary election to be held on Tuesday, May 17.

Jill Cooper was endorsed for the newly structured PA Legislature in District 55. Jill, a Plum native, has been active in the Republican Party since 2008, after having moved to Murrysville in 2005. Always known for her strong conservative values, work ethic and productivity, Jill has served as MERC Chair, Westmoreland County Republican Chair, PA State Committee member and Delegate to the two most recent Republican National Conventions.

Jeannette Pavlick of Murrysville was endorsed for election to the PA State Republican Committee. Jeannette has served as MERC Chair, and she has chaired numerous committees and events sponsored by MERC. Most recently, she chaired the two-evening events at the Lamplighter on March 30 and April 5. Those events introduced voters to multiple candidates for the US Senate, the newly formed U.S. Congressional District 12, PA Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and PA Legislative District 55. In all, several hundred voters attended these two successful events to meet and hear from the candidates directly.

Michael Korns of Murrysville was endorsed for re-election to the PA State Republican Committee. In addition to his work on the PA State Committee, Michael has served as Chairman of the Westmoreland County Republican Committee and has used his legal expertise to provide valuable counsel to numerous local and Westmoreland County Republican committees.

“MERC is very proud to endorse these three MERC members to the PA Legislature and to the PA State Republican Committee” said Tom Wubben, MERC Chairman, “each has been a distinguished and proven Republican leader and has contributed to MERC’s excellence over the past decade. We look forward to continuing to work with them as they contribute to the success of the Republican Party, and to the people of Pennsylvania.”
