Further Thoughts on the Abortion Issue
In the decades since Roe has made abortion so widespread, reportedly 63 million infants have been terminated in the womb (some by the hideous practice of partial birth abortion). If the number is accurate, that’s more than the population of all but a few of the nations on Earth! In 1-2% of cases, pregnancies follow incestuous relationships, or result from terrible rapes. Setting those arguments aside, the vast majority are simply a matter of convenience. My question is this: out of those 63 million, how many unborn Ben Carsons or Jonas Salk has America murdered? How many Clarence Thomases, Barack Obamas or Martin Luther Kings have died because it would have been too great a burden on a poor family or unmarried woman? Think about what America has lost because of abortion! Wouldn’t adoption have been a better alternative?
Ben Carson was born to a single mom in Detroit who worked two jobs to raise Ben and his brother. Recent Senate candidate Kathy Barnette was born to a very poor pre-teen rape victim in Alabama. Their mothers didn’t turn to abortion, and our world is a far better place for their courageous decisions.
This land of opportunity produces many outstanding individuals every year, leaders in every field of endeavor; and they come from women of all races, religions, and backgrounds. Many of these women have one thing in common – the courage to do the right thing – not the easy thing, and at great personal sacrifice! Their courage makes our nation greater!
