In her recent letter (“Rise Above Political Biases’), Margaret Ryan compliments Rep. Bob Brooks for supporting cooperation in reaching consensus to solve problems but then slams him for calling out his concerns without listing bipartisan solutions. She moans that Rep. Brooks complains about government spending and ‘again tells us the GOP party-line falsehood that the United States has open borders. The United States does not.’
It’s obvious that if Rep. Brooks is reaching across the aisle to get diverse views on issues and is dealing with people such as Ms. Ryan who absolutely refuses to admit obvious facts such as the crisis at our southern border, then such discussions will not be fruitful.
We are at a critical point in our area. Ms. Ryan is obviously a supporter of Rep. Summer Lee, an avowed socialist who even had extreme radical and known non-compromiser Bernie Sanders flew first class into Pittsburgh for her pre-election rally. She won a close election over a moderate Democrat, not because of her record of accomplishments (try to find any…) but because she received massive outside funds for TV advertising to portray her position as a ‘victim’.
The recent U.S. congressional redistricting joins Murrysville and other areas in Westmoreland County with parts of the City of Pittsburgh. Hopefully voters in our new district will not fall for the standard socialist/progressive blather from Rep. Lee that has led to crime, shortages, and overall poorer living conditions as people have become more dependent on ineffective governments. If you like the price of gasoline, inflation, and the flood of illegals and drugs across our southern border, just keep denying the facts of which policies have caused the rapid recent decline in our country. Your vote really matters.
