Fetterman’s Braddock
Fetterman’s Braddock
What do voters know about Senate candidate John Fetterman who entered politics to make ‘his town a better safer place’? I left eastern PA and briefly worked in Braddock, a declining drug and crime-riddled town of 1.700 residents (half that of North Wales).
Fetterman served from 2006 until 2019 as Braddock’s part-time mayor at a $150 monthly salary, financially subsidized by his father. In 2010, the borough manager embezzled $178,000 and its hospital closed. Population declined 41 percent between 2000 and 2020. Today, Braddock has no banks, major grocery stores, drug stores, or gas stations. Most business district storefronts remain boarded. Median home selling price in 2021 was $36,000. The town remains severely depressed.
Fetterman became Lt. Gov. in 2019 where he promoted legalizing recreational marijuana and pardoning imprisoned, convicted drug dealers.
Study Fetterman’s record and decide if you want this Bernie Sanders clone as your new Senator.
