The ink is hardly dry on the Inflation Reduction Act that most respected financial experts say will not reduce inflation but will, despite promises to the contrary, raise taxes on many earning less than $400,000 per year. The Democrats now promote the Act as a huge win to subsidize green energy and reduce drug company revenues.
We are now being bombarded with annoying and in many cases untrue TV ads touting the candidates. A new ad promotes John Fetterman, saying that he ‘revived Braddock and brought back jobs.’ Braddock remains a very depressed town, now numbering 1,700 residents after losing 41 percent of its population between the 2000 and 2020 censuses.
John Fetterman was part-time mayor from 2006 to 2019 and earned $150 per month while being financially supported by his wealthy parents. His ‘revived’ Braddock currently has no banks, drug stores, gas stations, or full-service grocery stores, and the median home selling price in 2021 was $36,000. Crime and drugs remain huge problems.
In 2019, U.S. Steel announced a $1 billion project at its plant which is partially in Braddock, but with the significant delays in permitting while Fetterman was Lt. Governor, U. S. Steel killed the local and is now building a new plant in Arkansas. Were jobs brought back or saved here?
With a hugely biased media and commercials that counter facts and truth, they really do think we’re stupid. Sadly, when we look at the voting for the fraudulent Inflation Reduction Act, they certainly have fooled many of us in the past.
